Engineering Inc. was founded by Mr. Frank P. Pierce, P.E. in 1999 following the May 3rd F-5 tornado that devastated portions of Moore, Oklahoma, a suburb of Oklahoma City. Mr. Pierce, a licensed professional engineer with more than 30 years of civil / structural engineering experience, confined his practice to structural inspections of properties to determine extents of storm damage.
In 2003 Mr. Pierce and Mr. Shawn M. Thompson, P.E. became partners, and continued the work of assessing determining storm damage while expanding into the commercial market. Mr. Thompson had previously worked for the City of Oklahoma City as the project manager of the Civic Center Renovation, a $54 million dollar restoration made possible through the MAPS (Metropolitan Area Projects) initiative. Prior to that he spent twelve years with The Benham Group as a project structural engineer designing and detailing structural systems and foundations out of wood, steel, and concrete.
In 2010, Mr. Robert P. Chynoweth, P.E. joined the firm, providing valuable expertise in the areas of computer support, structure behavior, failure analysis, and construction analysis. Mr. Chynoweth has previously worked as a structural engineer with well-known firms in Oklahoma City as well as Construction Superintendent, Project Manager, and design engineer with construction companies in Yukon and Edmond, Oklahoma.
